"I have never done this before."

We understand that designing a monument is not a routine part of everyday life and will gladly walk you through every step of the process. Just bring us your dream and a budget and we'll make it work.

Digital Design
Everything we do during the design process is digital; there is no limit to the amount of changes we can make before moving onto the physical product. If you're not happy with any part of the design or layout, don't be afraid to say so! We can get it just right before making anything permanent.

We can complete 100% of the monument remotely. Through phone, email, and/or text we can build a beautiful piece from the ground up without requiring travel.

Proofs and Drafts of our work are provided via email, text, or print to ensure everyone involved is happy.

Pricing & Cost
Each monument is different when it comes to pricing. The size and shape of the granite is what drives the majority of the cost. The more granite involved means a higher cost. Availability and geographic location of the granite is also a main driver of the cost. Laser etching, photos, and the amount of design elements contribute to the cost at a lesser degree.

At no point in this process will you be pressured to make a purchase. We are here to help you create something beautiful; not sell you on something you don't want.

There are no surprises when it comes to the price of your monument and being transparent about the costs is a priority. At no point will you be stuck paying for anything you don't want.

As a benchmark figure, a common two-person monument in flat black or gray granite comes to around $7500. This includes concrete foundation and installation.

Cemetery & Burial Requirements
We work directly with the cemetery or organization in which your monument will be placed. We pour our own concrete foundations and set your monument in full cooperation with rules and regulations of any burial site in the state of Iowa.

What can I put on there?

If it is possible to engrave, etch, or affix to the granite we will find a way. Cedar Valley Monument prides itself in creating innovative pieces that stand out from the rest.

If you can dream it, we can build it. There is no idea too far out there for us.

What is taking so long?

Creating and procuring a custom designed granite piece takes much more than simply ordering it. There are many people and processes involved in creating your one-of-a-kind memorial.

The color of granite we use dictates what part of the world it comes from and how long it takes to reach us. The shape of the monument we designed dictates how long it takes to be quarried and cut. The amount of design elements incorporated dictates how long the production process takes. Changes in the weather, locally and globally, can affect the time it takes for us to complete any of the steps involved.

Schedules and personal lives of our team as well as our suppliers' can also affect our lead times. Availability of materials and/or equipment can also be a factor at any given time.

We are a small business aiming to create the most memorable and durable pieces of art at the highest quality. Please be patient with us as we navigate the complicated process of doing so. If there is anything out of the ordinary happening we will be sure to communicate that to you.
